Dancing in the Cool

Woodford Lions Club Inc. has always been keen to provide community events in addition to the yearly street carnival. After Covid restrictions lifted the Clubs most recent community event was “Dancing In The Cool” at the Woodford Memorial Hall on 4th June 2022.

Close to 200 people danced the night away to the music of former Woodford boy Peter Mc Sweeney aka Toby Tyler and his band the Country Boys. The band catered for Old Time dancing, Line dancing, Rock & Roll, Partner dances and Swing dances as well as for those just doing their own thing.

The night of dancing brought a smile to the faces of Woodfordites who could recall the good old days of dancing in Woodford. One resident commented she had not done the Gypsy Tap for forty years. There was a strong consensus that more dancing in Woodford is a must. Accordingly, the Woodford Lions Club Inc is very keen to make “Dancing In The Cool” a yearly event on the Lions Club and Woodford Events’ Calendars.
